In 1987 when the Aquinas Center was founded in the Archdiocese of North Georgia, there were fewer than 150,000 Catholics. We now have more than 1.2 million registered Catholics in the Archdiocese. The Aquinas Center partners with the Archdiocese of Atlanta to offer Catholics in North Georgia the expertise of theologians across the country, to create intellectually vibrant Catholic communities, to bring people together across parish lines to learn from one another and to offer the broader church collective wisdom of the faithful.

Founded in the Dominican tradition, the Aquinas Center was formed in 1987 to bring Catholic scholarly resources to Emory University, the Archdiocese of Atlanta and the broader community.
