Mr. David Balunas Mr. Balunas is Chair of the Board of the Aquinas Center of Theology and President of Executive Resource Group.
Fr. Gerard Austin, O.P., S.T.L., S.T.D.- Fr. Austin is Professor at Blessed Edmund Rice School for Pastoral Ministry in Arcadia, Florida.
Mr. Ken Baudry Mr. Baudry graduated from Jesuit High School in New Orleans and Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge (BSEE & MBA). He is a Retreat Captain for Ignatius Retreat House in Atlanta and a member of the Advisory Board for Amigos for Christ. Ken is married with four children and is a member of St. Jude the Apostle Catholic Church. He has worked in the consulting business for over twenty-five years managing mission critical projects for many top US companies. He is a Founding Member of Submeter One, LLC and Sherecon, LLC and President of KJ Baudry, Inc.
Sr. Mary Elizabeth Beres, O.P., Ph.D. – Sr. Beres is Prioress for the Mid-Atlantic Mission Chapter of the Dominican Sisters of Adrian and President of the Atlanta Conference of Sisters and Vicar for Religious in the Archdiocese of Atlanta. She is the founding Consultant of Leadership Systems and a consultant specializing in leadership and organization development; founder of NEW Ventures Network, a mutual learning network for women of faith in entrepreneurial ventures; former Associate Professor of Organization Behavior at Mercer University Atlanta and Temple University Philadelphia.
Prof. David Blumenthal - David R. Blumenthal, Jay and Leslie Cohen Professor of Judaic Studies Department of Religion at Emory University. Professor Blumenthal took his B.A. at the University of Pennsylvania and his Ph.D. at Columbia University. He teaches and writes on constructive Jewish theology, medieval Judaism, Jewish mysticism, and holocaust studies. His previous published works include numerous scholarly articles, reviews, and eleven books including the two volume Understanding Jewish Mysticism(1978, 1982), God at the Center (Harper and Row, 1988).
Fr. George R. Boudreau, O.P., Ph.D. –Fr. Boudreau is Assistant Professor of Biblical Studies at the Aquinas Institute of Theology, St. Louis University. He has published on prophetic literature and pentateuchal formation.
Fr. David G. Caron, O.P., D.Min. –Fr. Caron is Director, The Center for Dominican Studies, Barry University, Miami, Florida.
Mr. Joseph B. Foltz. Mr. Foltz is Managing Partner of Foltz Martin, LLC (corporate attorneys). A member of Sacred Heart Church - Hearts on Fire Chorale; Trustee - New Ebenezer Retreat and Conference Center TEC, International Organization of CEO's. Former Board Member - Financial Service Corporation; The Link Counseling Center; Executive Committee, Real Estate Section, State Bar of Georgia.
Mr. Donald Gareis – Mr. Gareis is a Senior Consultant with Coxe Curry & Associates. He is the former President of the Woodruff Arts Center 1983-1991 and was employed by Sears, Roebuck and Co. He is a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish, Atlanta, Georgia as well as a member since 1984 of the Rotary Club of Atlanta and The Capital City Club since 1968.
Prof. Roberto S. Goizueta - Dr. Goizueta is a former Director of The Aquinas Center and is now a member of the faculty of the Department of Theology, Boston College. His research interests include theological aesthetics (von Balthasar) and liberation theology (Gutierrez).
Prof. M. Patrick Graham--Prof Graham is Margaret A. Pitts Professor of Theological Bibliography and Director of the Pitts Theology Library. He has research interests in the interpretation of 1 & 2 Chronicles and the history of Old Testament research. He serves on the Board of Directors of the American Theological Library Association and is a member of the program committee for the Chronicles-Ezra-Nehemiah Section of the Society of Biblical Literature. He is the author of one book, co-editor of another nine, and has written over 40 articles and numerous book reviews.
Prof. Dana Greene - Prof. Greene is Dean Emerita of Oxford College of Emory University and managing director of the Aquinas Center of Theology. She has published biographies of Evelyn Underhill and Maisie Ward and is the editor of four anthologies. She is a graduate of Emory University and served as Prof. of History at St. Mary's College of Maryland.
Prof. Pam Hall - Associate Professor of Religion and Women's Studies. Most recently she has most recently served as chair of Women's Studies. She was educated by the Nashville Dominicans and has a Ph. D from Vanderbilt University. She has won several teaching awards and is the author of Narrative and the Nature of Law: An Interpretation of Thomistic Ethics.(Univ. of Notre Dame Press). Her scholarly interests are in virtue ethics, moral philosophy, and feminist thought. She is currently at work on a book on virtue ethics and saints.
Prof. Elaine (Lanie) P. LeBlanc, Ph.D., O.P. Elaine (Lanie) P. LeBlanc, Ph.D., O.P. is a self-employed educational
consultant and author of numerous books for teachers. She is a
permanently professed member of the Southern Dominican Laity within the
Order of Preachers, Province of St. Martin de Porres. She has written an
on-line weekly Scripture reflection distributed by the Dominicans for over
10 years. She is the founding Moderator of the Lay Dominicans of the Holy
Cross, the Formation Director of that group, and the Lay Provincial
Secretary for the Southern Dominican Province. She is a member of Christ
Redeemer Catholic Church in Dawsonville, Georgia.
Dean Jan Love—Dean, Candler School of Theology, Emory University. Dean Love was the former chief executive of the Women's Division of the United Methodist Church prior to coming to Emory in 2007. She served on the faculty of the University of South Carolina from 1982-2001, teaching both in the departments of religious studies and government and international studies. She is the author of many articles and chapters, and of two books, one on Southern Africa in world politics and the other on U. S. Anti-Apartheid movement.
Ms. Jane Di Folco Parker - Currently Vice President for Development, Operations, at Emory University. A native of Ohio, Jane has worked in a variety of positions of increasing responsibility at Emory for three decades. Her expertise is in organizational management and development.
Prof. Philip L. Reynolds, Aquinas Professor of Historical Theology --Professor Reynolds's research is on Western Christian thought AD 400-1400. He focuses on scholastic theology and philosophy during the high Middle Ages (especially Bonaventure and Thomas Aquinas) and on the theology and canon law of marriage. His teaching also covers mystical theology. He is a senior fellow of Emory's Center for the Interdisciplinary Study of Religion.
Prof. Russell Richey Professor of Church History and former Dean of the Candler School of Theology. Professor Richey's research interest is American religious history, with special emphases on Methodism, comparative denominational studies and American civil or public religion.
Rev. Dr. Don E. Saliers - William R. Cannon Distinguished Professorship of Theology and Worship and Director of the Masterof Sacred Music Program at Candler School of Theology. Prof. Saliers is author of five books and co-author or co-editor of five more. He lectures widely in ecumenical circles, and has been associated with the Aquinas Center from its founding.
David H. Sharkey David is a tax partner at Deloitte & Touche USA LLP
and currently serves as Treasurer for the Aquinas Center of Theology.
Fr. Bryan Small - An Atlanta native, He is the Catholic Chaplain at Emory. He graduated from St. Meinrad College (1997) with a degree in psychology. Between 1998 and 2002 he attended St. Vincent's Seminary in Latrobe, PQ where he earned a M. A. in Systematic Theology and an M. Div.
Fr. Carl Trutter, O.P., D.Rel. – Fr. Trutter is a member of St.
Anthony
of Padua Priory (New Orleans) in the Southern Dominican Province and was
formerly vicar provincial for that Province and earlier on the faculty of
the Aquinas Institute of Theology (then at Dubuque, IA). He has been a
Catholic campus minister at the University of Illinois, University of
Houston, Vanderbilt University and Tulane University and director of
campus
ministry for the Archdiocese of San Antonio. He has done considerable
writing on and editing for university student ministry, evangelization and
Dominican historical publications.
Prof. Jack Zupko—Associate Professor of Philosophy and director of the Catholic Studies Minor, and a graduate of Cornell University, Professor Zupko specializes in Medieval Philosophy, metaphysics and the philosophy of religion. His publications include a book on John Buridan and edited works on the metaphysical and natural philosophy of Buridan and on stoicism. He is currently preparing an English translation of two works by John Duns Scotus. Professor Zupko is a recipient of the Emory Williams Distinguished teaching award in the humanities.
Executive Director Search
Executive Director—Aquinas Center of Theology at Emory University (ACT), Atlanta, GA. This 20-year old Center, an affiliate of Emory University with roots in the Dominican tradition, provides a Catholic scholarly presence for the benefit of the University, the Archdiocese of Atlanta, and the region. As the primary officer of the Center, the director is responsible for planning, budgeting, programming and public relations functions. Adjunct teaching in Catholic Studies (two courses per year) is expected and will require University approval. The director reports to an independent Board of Directors. See www.aquinas.emory.edu.
Qualifications: PhD or equivalent, energy to pursue the vision of the Center, a record of successful teaching experience, and an ability to liaison with the University.
