Jim Toner

Educated in the parochial school system of Philadelphia, Dr. Toner attended St Joseph’s University, where he took many courses in theology and philosophy.  He received his medical and doctoral degrees at the University of Pennsylvania.  He has published more than 60 journal articles and given more than two hundred invited talks. He moved to Atlanta in 2000 to join a private practice. In his early 20’s Dr. Toner was a member of the liturgical choir of the Cathedral Basilica of Saints Peter & Paul.  He sang during Pope John Paul II’s first visit to the US on his Philadelphia stop (1979). He and his wife Leanne have 8 children between them, which keeps them busy.  They stay engaged in their local church in the Adult Mission Ministry, the Teen Life program, and the Promise Keepers group. They do retreats at Ignatius House, attend Aquinas Center events, and support of the Fellowship for the Performing Arts.
